Welcome to the Women's Museum of California's Library, Archive, and Museum Collections (WMC Collections) site. This website offers an inside look into the collections at the Museum for recreational and educational use. 

WMC Collections offers links to collection finding aids, digital exhibits, women's history timelines, a women's history research guide, a general history research guide, a contemporary women's issues guide, and collections publicity. Please click on the tabs in addition to their sub-headings for additional information. These pages can be viewed in any order.  

Search

Visitors can search for specific items by using the “Advanced Search” feature with the following symbol (...) next to the search engine at the top of the site. This allows visitors to search for items by keyword, by the format of the document, and by collection. Also, visitors can browse for items using the tags, which are listed with each item.

Definitions

Finding Aid: A document that serves as a descriptive guide to an archival collection. It contextualizes the contents of a collection by providing information about the collections provenance, biographical note, scope of the collection, arrangement, and description of the contents. 

Digital Exhibit: Use of a digital platform to curate a topic using text and primary sources.
